Making progress – first panel refinements

I ended up getting a new system to render better. I can now pop out much higher resolutions in far less time, big win.

I’ve been messing around with the scene for the first comic and am pretty close to cutting panels for the comic. I’ve worked on lighting, a lot, in addition to posing and eyes.

Here is a 1920×1080 HD shot of a single panel of Lodet talking. I still have to work on the background – either go transparent so i can photoshop it or figure out how to achieve a out-of-focus forest backdrop on a “plane” – and to wrap that in a full circle in my scene so I can cut images from any angle to get the action right.

Lodet’s right eye is too dark, background is generic blue vs forest, lighting of deck is probably too bright

Next image: got the background figured out, changed the lighting model to much better effect (at least for Lodet, will need a small light for Ginger), remaining item to tackle: a bit too much “red eye” reflection for the otherwise hidden light right in front of her.

Lighting is much better here for Lodet, background fixed up, Ginger needs lighting and I need to remove the “red eye” effect on Lodet; will also need to Photoshop fix oddities like her sleeves through her hands
Eyes set to not reflect, hands fixed in Photoshop, lighting applied to Ginger. Mission accomplished for a single panel.
