
Made a ton of progress this week, my four Wiccii heroes are now designed in Daz. I also have assets for Ginger (Lodet’s familiar) and squirrels and frogs, which are part of chapter 1.
I learned how to adjust skin color, eye color, tuck hair into hats, adjust poses, and a lot more. I did reasonably well learning Daz and I’m very appreciative of the marketplace for components. This really helps to move my game design forward.
Lots of design decisions were made this round. I disliked the darker/black version of Mavi’s outfit, it was hard to see it when rendered and would blend too much with backgrounds. So I decided to go grey with her. Kamista’s costume was a struggle – I wanted something between Artinuk and Lodet as Kamista is a support role and balances them. Getting her skin color right took a bit, have to adjust and render to really see it, then repeat. The hats required a lot of futzing – hair just wants to go through it. I’m not sure why Daz can’t just have collision rules, when you have a wardrobe piece over your hair, pretty sure you never want to see clipping.
But, exciting – it’s now time to move into scripting and doing the first comic to introduce the game.
